Fractional CO2 (carbon dioxide) laser treatment is an advanced skin-resurfacing procedure that uses a laser to create microscopic columns of thermal damage in the skin. Unlike traditional CO2 lasers, which treat the entire surface area, fractional CO2 lasers target small portions (or fractions) of the skin at a time, leaving surrounding tissue untouched. This allows for faster healing and less downtime.

The treatment is used to address various skin concerns, including:

  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Skin laxity and texture issues

Fractional CO2 lasers work by promoting collagen production in the skin, which helps to smooth out wrinkles and scars, tighten the skin, and improve its overall appearance. Depending on the intensity of the treatment, recovery time can range from a few days to a couple of weeks, with side effects like redness, swelling, and peeling during the healing process
